 Subject :  Poor Voice Quality

A few years ago I used to use Yate regularly and got very clear calls,
but now I can't even have a conversation, the voices are so broken up.
I compiled it from source on Ubuntu 19.04, and it runs fine (yate-qt4),
except for the poor audio -- unusable, really. I'm pretty sure its a
codec issue, but there doesn't seem to be a way to choose or prioritize
codecs. Is there?

I can exit Yate and immediately start up Linphone, and get perfectly
clear calls connecting to the same pbx and calling the same numbers.
But I don't like Linphone's interface, and especially the fact that it
doesn't show missed calls.
