 Subject :  Resource Usage Problem with Dahdi/Zapcard/ysigchan
 Date :  Mon, 04 Jun 2012 17:58:21 +0200
Heya!

We are trying to build a TDM<->SIP Gateway with Digium TE820B cards,
Setup is:

- Dell R610 (Dual Xeon L5520)
- Centos 6 64bit (2.6.32-220.13.1.el6.x86_64)
- 2x TE820B
- Dahdi 2.6.1
- Yate 4.1.0
- E1 with DSS1

When we start yate, we observe insanely high amounts of IRQs and Context
Switches...

When idle without yate running, we have ~ 2100 IRQ/s, 100 cs/s
With 1 E1 configured in yate, but no calls: 18000 IRQ/s, 25000 cs/s
With 16 E1 configured in yate, no calls: 100000 IRQ/s (yes, 100k!),
240000 cs/s (yes, 240k!)...

When sending calls to system, Yate has severe problems to perform
signalling right, and resources rise way more, we even had 1.2 MILLION
cs/s...

Can you give any hint what is running wrong here?

With Asterisk, we don't have much higher resource usage during no calls,
and expected rise with calls, but the box handles 480 calls perfectly,
with 30k IRQ/s, 100k cs/s.

Configuration of TDM/sig:

dahdi/system.conf:

span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4
bchan=1-15,17-31 usage is acceptable
echocanceller=mg2,1-15,17-31
dchan=16

span=2,2,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4
bchan=32-46,48-62
echocanceller=mg2,32-46,48-62
dchan=47
...

zapcard.conf:

[dahdi1]
type=E1
offset=0

[dahdi2]
type=E1
offset=31
...

ysigchan.conf:

[dss1_1]
type=isdn-pri-cpe
switchtype=euro-isdn-e1
sig=dahdi1
voice=dahdi1
print-messages=yes

[dss1_2]
